Lieutenant-General Abdel Moneim Al-Terras, Chairman of the Board Of Directors of the Arab Organization For Industrialization, held an important meeting with Eng. Ahmed Mekky, Chairman and CEO of Benya Group and Mr. Steve Candler, Director of Commercial Operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa for Corning International, and Eng. Ayman AlBayaa, Chief Operating Officer of Benya Group and CEO of Benya Systems. The meeting was held to further discuss the final and latest developments in the operation of the optical fiber cable factory during the second half of this year. A project that will be carried out for the first time inside Egypt which involves the production of Corning cables – the world leader in optical fiber cables – to serve the needs of the Egyptian market, as well as exporting them internationally.

The meeting included an overview of the latest developments regarding the manufacturing and expansion plans for the factory, to meet the needs of the optical fiber cable industry in Egypt and Africa, along with further discussions on the best ways for the three parties to cooperate with one another to support the digital transformation plan for Egypt 2030 and Africa.

Eng. Ahmed Mekky, Chairman and CEO of Benya Group emphasized on the importance of the meeting that brought together all parties working on the new optical fiber in the economic zone of the Suez Canal in Ein-Sokhna, clarifying that Benya Group’s expertise along with the Arab Organization For Industrialization and Corning International will result in advanced optical fiber products that are set to be released in the Arab & African markets.

Mekky also added that despite the global economic repercussions and the aftermath of the Coronavirus pandemic, Benya Group is still committed to its plans towards industrialization in the Egyptian Market through providing premium products with international standards manufactured by Egyptians and on Egyptian ground to support the Egyptian economy.

Benya Group is prepared to be the first producer of optical fiber cables in the region and it aims, through the optical fiber cable factory, to cover all of Egypt’s needs for optical fibers along with the digital transformation that the country started several years ago.
